Dear fellow laborers in the ministry,
Dan grew up in a Christian home as his father pastored for forty-nine years. While in a small church in central Florida, Dan’s dad had a large sign made that he used to put in their front yard every Christmas which read, “WISE MEN STILL SEEK HIM.” He loved Christmas, and he loved preaching about the first coming of our Savior. As we focus on Christmas, let us praise God as we are reminded of His love for humanity in sending His Son to be the Lamb of God that came in order to take away the sins of the world.
We have been quite busy reporting to our supporting churches over the past few months. We give all the honor and glory to God for how He has used us, and for how He continues to use us in His harvest field. We have been able to report in some of our supporting churches in South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Kentucky, and finally in California. We have been encouraged by the response of so many that are excited about our new ministry in raising awareness of the need for laborers among the Deaf around the world.
We talked with some young people while at a Mission Conference in California and told them of our “Connect With The Deaf” mission trip to Brazil next year. We mentioned in one of the services that we are planning to take other “Connect With The Deaf” trips to other countries. To our surprise, we had several missionaries that came up to us after the service and asked us to consider taking a group to their countries since almost no one is reaching the Deaf where they are. Matthew 9:37 and 38 says, “The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest that He will send forth labourers into His harvest.” Please pray with us that God would call more missionaries and church planters among the Deaf.
While in California, we were able to visit one of our daughters, her husband, and our granddaughter. To our surprise, they made an announcement that they are expecting another baby next May! We were excited to find out that they are going to have a boy. Praise the Lord for His wonderful blessings!
On December 23rd, we will be celebrating our 37th wedding anniversary. God has been so good to us as we have had the privilege of serving our Lord and Savior together with BIMI for over thirty-one years, and twenty-six of those years were in Brazil.
At this Christmastime, we want to stop and thank each of you that have a part in the ministry to which God has called us. You are a special “gift” from God to us, and we appreciate you all so very much. May each of you have a blessed Christmas as you celebrate the birth of Jesus, wherever you may be.
From our house to yours, “MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!”
That all may “HEAR,”
Dan & Becky Bennett
